Mogilev region traffic police is monitoring observance of traffic rules by drivers of farming machines during harvesting campaig

Since the beginning of harvesting campaign Mogilev region traffic police has been implementing a number of preventive measures in the field of agriculture. The information was provided by chief traffic police officer of motor licencing and inspection department of Mogilev region executive committee Victor Midiko.

Specialists of traffic police has already examined 650 vehicles used for crops transportation. Thirty joint spot checks have been done together with respective organisations; special attention was paid to technical state of vehicles & selfpropelled machines, as well as to physical state of drivers and machine operators.

“Since the beginning of harvesting campaign 55 drivers of agricultural organisations have violated road traffic rules, including 21 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol”, Victor Midiko told. – “Twenty heads of agricultural organisations have been fined for permitting drunk people or people without driving license to drive. Twenty drivers have been fined for spilling crops from car bodies because of leakage of side flaps.”

Much attention is paid to informing and explanatory work, Victor Midiko specified. Aiming at practical assistance, traffic police flying squads have been patrolling near places of harvesting and storing crops, as well as near fuel and lubricant stations. Cars of Mogilev region traffic police also escort motorcades of grain harvester combines moving towards fields.
